This page allows online questions to be asked. We, adapt-r, will try to answer your question as soon as possible.
For example, you can ask if your dishwasher fits your (Ikea) kitchen. In this case, please state the number of your dishwasher in the question. All questions are welcome!
Hi, does adapt-r fits on a Beko DIN28R22 dishwasher?
https://www.beko.co.uk/a-integrated-dishwasher-aquaintense-din28r22
John
Hi John,
Thank you for your question. The adapt-r 2.0 is compatible with your Beko dishwasher.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi Rob.
Short version of the story is that we have cut down an ikea cabinet to install an 800mm belfast sink which is as wide as the cabinet. We have then added an additional side panel (20mm think) to the cabinet on the side where the dishwasher will go to provide and edge to the cabinet at the top where the sink is. We are having custom doors made and were planning on getting a 620mm door for the dishwasher to allow a 20mm overhang on the sink side which will sit flush against the extra side panel.
Will the Adapt R work in this situation, or is there a chance it will not be able to slide under the corner of the additional side panel panel?
We have a Bosch dishwasher and ikea units.
I hope that all makes sense. Thanks
Tom
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your question. The adapt-r can help in your situation. Technically the adapt-r is compatible in your situation, only two points that need attention. The cabinet door needs to slide underneath the dishwasher. If the sidepanel is behind the cabinet door then this might be a problem. You can then place the side panel between the two cabinet doors. If there is possibility to let the cabinet door slide underneath the dishwasher without hitting the sidepanel than you cannot use the premium template provided with adapt-r. This template is made for 60x80cm cabinetdoors. In your case you have to move this template to the left corner when installing the left parts and move it to the right corners when installing the right parts. I hope this makes sense. Just to be sure you can always send us an email. Info@adapt-r.co.uk, my colleague or I will then inspect your specific situation.
I hope this makes sense, if not: please let me know.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hello Rob,
I’ve not got an ikea kitchen, so hence not got a 80cm door. I’ve got a 15cm plinth with a 17.5 cm x 60cm door being fitted above on the dishwasher, which is sitting between a return corner and a unit. Can I fit one of your adapt hinges to the door so to eradicate having to cut out a 2 cm slot in the plinth to allow the door to full open. If so what type of hinge would you recommend considering where the dishwasher is being positioned. Would it also mean having to adapt the fitting process considering the plinth height and size of door. Await your reply, many thanks.
Regards,
Paul.
Good afternoon,
Normally you can use the Adapt-R for the described situation, even for a kitchen that is not from IKEA. The only real requirement is that the dishwasher must be 100% integrated.
You indicate that the dishwasher is 55 cm deep and the unit is 63.2 cm. But then you do have the 19mm needed for the system, right?
It’s mm and not cm! This is the thickness of the hinge. After mounting, all fronts then run in one line.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
Sincerely,
Team Adapt-R
Hi,
you write “the installation depth of the adapt-r is 3/4″ (19mm)”.
Does the ikea behjälplig adapter have the same installation depth or is it more or less.
Regards
Simon
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your question. I don’t know the exact thickness off IKEA’s Behalplig. I can’t find this info either. In my memory the thickness is about 1.3″ (3,3cm). About 3/4″(ca 18mm) thickness for the baseplate and another 5/8″ (ca15mm) for the sliding system.
So to answer the question: The thickness of the Adapt-r 2.0 system is less then the Behjalplig system.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Will it fit a Hotpoint LSTF 8M126 Slimline Dishwasher to a Bodbyn Ikea door
Hi Robert,
The adapt-r 2.0 will fit on normal and on slimline dishwashers. Adapt-r is compatible with all IKEA doors. Attention point with the BODBYN kitchen door is that you have to pay attention to not drill holes in the thinner part of the door.

As you can see in this photo, you cannot use 1 “C” and 1 “B” hole. This has no further effect.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
hi Rob,
we would like to use adapt-r for Bosch dishwasher (SMV58L60EU) and Bodbyn ikea doors, does it fit? And what is multi door connect? Do we need it?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Henriett,
I ‘m sorry for my late reply. The adapt-r will work in you situation and I saw that your package is allready on its way. Many thanks for that.
The other answer:
The connect-r is a piece which maybe needed when you want to have multiple drawer fronts on your dishwasher. I saw you did not ordered an connect-r. In case you have multiple drawer fronts please contact me (info@adapt-r.co.uk).
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi I have a new Metod kitchen and new Hotpoint LSTF8M126 slimline 45cm dishwasher.
Do I have to order a special 45cm adapt-r or do they fit all widths?
Andrew Y Sheffield
Hi Andrew,
The adapt-r 2.0 is compatible with 45 and 60cm dishwashers.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi
Confused over the depth. 19mm does this mean in total the dish washer will have 19mm adapt r and then the door front thickness as well so would need to be set back that much?
Hi Matt,
Thank you for your question. I will try to make it more clear. The total thickness of the system is 19mm. This means that, in a normal situation, the frontside of the dishwasher is “in line” with the kitchen cabinets. When you mount the adapt-r this way, the frontside of the dishwasher door sticks 19mm. So when you set back your dishwasher 19mm, the frontside will be inline with the rest of the cabinets.
I hope that it is more clear to you. If not, please let me know!
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi
Do you ship to Australia? And which product do I need for a 60cm Bosch dishwasher?
Thanks
Hi Sher,
Thank you for your question.
I do ship to Australia. You need the Adapt-r 2.0
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi, you keep mentioning Ikea and their tall doors. Is this just as useful for non ikea dishwasher in a non ikea kitchen with 71cm doors?
I would very much prefer to not have to cut the kickboard and I only have about 25mm of space to push the dishwasher back further.
Hello Pavel,
Thank you. The adapt-r will work on all kitchens. 90% of our users are having IKEA kithens… 10% are other kitchens. Sometimes they want the adapt-r because they don’t want to cut the kickboard, others have such a tall kitchendoor that they have to use the adapt-r.
In your case the adapt-r will make sure you dont have to cut your kickboard.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi,
Interested in this adapter however my NEFF dishwasher opens out into a tight space, to which another unit is in-front of it. The old IKEA adapter (which constantly breaks, hence my interest in this solution ) would just about clear (within about 5mm before hitting a cupboard) but from studying the installation video – your adaptor appears to slide the door up considerably.
Using this Adapt-r how much clearance would I need to allow between the dishwasher when fully open and the unit. ?
Hi Luke,
This ‘slide-open’ distance depends on your specific situation.
In our installation manual we have given 3 points to mount the pivot point. These are universal working pivot points. In fact there are as much pivot heights as types of dishwashers. If the door wil open with the Behjalplig system then the door will also open with the adapt-r. I can help you determine the pivot height before you place an order.
Please let me know if you need help.
You can send me an email at info@adapt-r.co.uk
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi.
I have this system already and it installed really well, I am happy…. but
On the sliding part where the dishwasher door attaches to the kitchen door, I’m finding that it’s grinding! Surely that’s not right, I used the Allen key bolt with the alley threaded tube, as I said it’s grinding as if it does not fit? I was expecting a smooth opening action! Have I done something wrong!
Andy
Hi Andy,
Are you using the metal bushes or the Nylon bushes?

The metal bushes can be replaced by the self-locking bolt in combination with the Nylon bushes.
So it looks this way:
If you don’t have the Nylon bush anymore I can send you them.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Rob thanks for replying, using the metal! I don’t remember having any nylon bushes, mind you when your building a kitchen everything merged into one.
If you could send me some that would be fantastic.
Andy
Hi Andy,
No problem, can you please send your address details to info@adapt-r.co.uk?
I will make sure you will get them as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi, I’m interested in this system for my IKEA kitchen & Bosch integrated dishwasher, looking at an installation video, there is a bar screwed to the top of the door on the back, so my question is, would it work on a J-Pull style door, as the door is thin at the top to accommodate the J handle profile?
Hello Andy,
Do you have the model number/name of your dishwasher so we can check for you?
With kind regards,
Team adapt-r
Yes, it’s a Bosch SMV68ND00G
Yes this diswasher will work with an adapt-r + a J-Pull style door. The manual will guide you through different steps and will tell you when/where to drill with this type of door.
Email sent,
Thanks Rob
Andy
Thank you
I have a Miele G6660SCVI.
I note there is a special adapt r for Miele. (See detail below).
Should I buy this instead?
Thank you

Hello Rob
I am mounting my dishwasher on a 140mm plinth so the front panel will effectively reach to the bottom of the dishwasher feet. Will the adapt-r system work with a door the reaches to the floor (top of plinth) on a Bosch or Miele dishwasher?
Hi Colin,
That is no problem. It will take max. 5mm between door and plinth to open de door. The Adapt-r Premium is compatible with Bosch and Miele (60cm) dishwashers. The Easy is not compatible with Miele dishwashers.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi Rob. We are fitting a Metod IKEA Kitchen, and wondering how to fit the Vorxtopp door. We have the VAGLIG system from Ikea. Is this needed in addition to your Adapt-r system. I have just purchased it. We are fitting a BOSCH SMV46MX00G. Thank you
Hi Roger,
The adapt-r Easy has anything in it to mount multiple drawer fronts on your dishwasher. The Vaglig is not needed.
We have shipped your order today.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
I am having trouble installing the system. In step 5 of the instructions, there is a picture of a screw or something, that goes through a hole in the mounting bracket that gets screwed onto the dishwasher door. It looks as though it should help adjust the trim, when the door is mounted.
This screw (2- one for each side), or whatever it is, is either missing from my package, or the hole in the bracket is too small, or a combination of these factors. Please help!
Hi Jay, this part is needed to adjust the height. It seems that you received a package without these parts. Last week we accidentally shipped some Basics without these parts. I will make sure you will get them as soon as possible. I am very sorry for this inconvenience. Kind regards, Rob Tangenberg
Hi – I have a Metod IKEA kitchen and a Blomberg Seit 1883 integrated dishwasher. Will the Adapt-R fit this make & model? Reason for asking is that I don’t see this make of dishwasher listed on any of the lists that come up when I click on the different versions of the Adapt-R on your website. Many other makes listed – but not Blomberg anywhere that I can see.
Thanks

Hi – sorry! Blomberg Dishwasher is model LDV42244 – not 1883 as I put. That’s probably the date the company was founded ! Anyway, same question – is adapt-R compatible with this dishwasher & Metod kitchen
Thanks

Hi Mike,
This dishwasher is compatible with our system. As far as I can see with all three systems.

Hi, I am looking to buy the BLOMBERG dishwasher (https://www.blomberguk.com/appliances/integrated-appliances/dishwashers/ldv42244-full-size-integrated-dishwasher-product) and their customer support said that it should fit into IKEA METOD but I am not sure if they understand the door issue. Any thoughts on whether I’d need the ADAPT-R? Many thanks.
Hi Mark,
Without adapt-r you cannot fit it in an IKEA kitchen. Offcourse it is possible with an adapt-r.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hello – we have an existing dishwasher from previous kitchen and do not want to buy an Ikea dishwasher (reviews aren’t great and they aren’t cheap either!). But we do want it integrated with our Ikea design (Voxtorp).
What cabinet do we need to choose? (I can’t find just an empty Ikea cabinet with a pull down door) – I’m probably being blind and can’t see what we need!
Does your Adapt-r solution fit a Beko DSFN1534S dishwasher? https://www.beko.co.uk/full-size-dishwasher-dsfn1534-black-silver-white
Hi Tim,
The dishwasher must be placed between two cabinets and not in a cabinet.
Our system is compatible with all fully integrated dishwashers. You can just place the dishwasher in the space between the cabinets and then mount the adapt-r and Voxtorp to it.
Please let me know if you need more help.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Info@adapt-r.co.uk
Thanks Rob.
So I just need to leave a gap in the island, buy a back panel (to cover back of dishwasher), buy a Voxtorp door (to go on the front of dishwasher). What about plinth – will the Adapt-r ensure that the door won’t bash into the plinth or do I need to mount the dishwasher on top of something?
Hello,
Does it fit on a Hot point dishwasher? That is not listed….
Hi Isao,
It fits on all full integrated dishwashers. Do you have a serial number? I will check if it is possible.
Kind regards,
Rob Tangenberg
Hi Rob,
It is full integrated dishwasher and serial number is 451940042146(I think…), model HIO 3C26 W UK.
Many thanks,
Isao
Hi Isao,
This dishwasher is compatible with the adapt-r.Do you have 19mm space behind your dishwasher?
Kind regards,
Rob
Hello – I am looking to purchase a Bosch serie 4 ( SMV46GX01G) integrated dishwasher to fit into an Ikea Metod kitchen. The dishwasher is said to be supplied with a ‘fixed door fixing kit’. Can I use Adapt-r to fit a sliding Metod door to the dishwasher?
Hello Donald,
We don’t know what this ‘fixed door fixing kit’is. But the Bosch serie 4 (SMV46GX01G) is suitable for installing with the adapt-r.
With kind regards,
Team adapt-r
Thank you Rob. I have ordered adapt-r now.
Will I also need to order Vaglig rails from IKEA to fit Metod door to dishwasher?
Thank you for for your help Rob. I have ordered adapt-r and the unit arrived very quickly.
Will I also need to order Vaglig rails from IKEA to fit Metod door to dishwasher?
Hello,
Does the adapt r fit with the;
Hotpoint HIO3C26W Standard dishwasher?
I have an Ikea fitted kitchen.
Good morning,
Your dishwasher is suitable for the Adapt-R! In order to be able to properly advise you which of our systems is most suitable in your situation, we need additional information, namely:
*) Is your dishwasher between two cabinets or panels?
*) The kitchen panel, made for your dishwasher, is it 1 door or does it consist of several segments?
We are waiting for your response.
Sincerely,
Team Adapt-R
Hi,
I have a Bosch SMV68ND00G on order, it has Bosch ‘open assist’, will this work with your product in an ikea kithen? Thank you
Hello, thanks for your question.
The “open assist” is no problem. The dishwasher springs may need to be adjusted slightly due to the added weight of the hinge. We know from experience that this does not cause any problems.
Sincerely,
Team Adapt-R
Hi
Could you confirm if the adapt-r will fit a 60cm Bloomberg dishwasher (LDV42244) ? The dishwasher is fully integrated and sits next to a corner unit. A hole has been cut in the plinth to allow the door to open but now means there’s a problem attaching plinth lighting across the run of base units. If suitable for my dishwasher would this product mean there would be no need to cut the plinth?
Can you also advise which products would be suitable?
Many thanks
Phil
Good afternoon Phil.
The Adapt-R is suitable for all 100% integrated dishwashers! so also for your dishwasher.
After installation there is no need to cut into the plinth as it can then be fitted in the normal way without being damaged. And there is no problem with the lighting either.
We recommend the Premium60 because this system gives the most solid end result in your situation. A nice side effect is that this system is also the easiest to install.
Below we mention the link to a video on youtube. Here you can see how the Premium is installed. Dutch is spoken but will make a lot clear.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
Sincerely, Team Adapt-R
Hello,
What is the minimum width needed to install the adapt r premium? The gap I have between the two cabinets is only 60cm (the Metod doors only just fit). Does the adapt r need any width tolerance?
Also, are there instructions on how to fit 2 drawer panels onto the adapt r?
Many thanks for you help.
Hi Beatrice,
The adapt-r does not need extra width space. It does need 19 mm depth space.
The adapt-r Easy and adapt-r Premium are suitable for mounting multiple drawer panels on your dishwasher and will come with a manual.
With kind regards,
Team adapt-r
Hi, My builder installed a Bosch dishwasher with an ikea door using your premium adapt-r. I used the dishwasher for the first time but the adapt-r makes a terrible screaching noise when you open and close the door and the door is falling off. I think we can adjust the position of the guides (even though he used the drilling guide provided) to keep the door attached but what can I do about the horrible noise? There are also three very sharp burs on the top metal rail- I will have to file them down so I no one cuts themselves.
Any help would be greatly appreciated- the whole thing seems terribly makeshift and not at all neat. Does it need to be re-installed? If so I will probably have to buy a new door as any new holes will make even more of a mess. My builder did have a terrible time following the video instructions.
Regards.
Hello!
We regret that you had such a negative experience.
For the squeaking noise there is the following solution: add a drop of oil to both nylon parts that slide through the rail. This is only needed once. Then open and close the door several times.
As for the door issues, it seems that something is indeed not installed properly. Can you send us pictures of the Adapt-R installed so we can look at it? These can be sent to info@adapt-r.co.uk.
We are waiting for your response and will respond as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Team Adapt-R
Hi there – contacting you from Australia. I have a Siemens iQ500 dishwasher just purchased on discount and they won’t accept a return but it does not work with my IKEA cabinet fronts. Will the adapt-r (or premium) sort the problem? I don’t know if any specs change between countries so here is the link to the AU iQ500. https://www.winningappliances.com.au/p/siemens-iq500-fully-integrated-dishwasher-sn657x01ma
Also if I use the adapt-r will I need to mount the dishwasher on a platform above floor level as the dw does not wind up very high? A video I watched has this.
Also, how much to ship the adapt-r to Australia?
Thanks.
PS I want to use 3 drawer fronts (60cm wide, 20 high at the top, 20 high in the middle, 40 high on the bottom). I think I read that you have a system for this so I don’t have to use the vaglig connecting rail – can you explain please? Thanks again.
Hello,
You don’t need the Vaglig. A part is included in the package of the Adapt-R with which you can attach the three fronts to each other.
Sincerely,
Team Adapt-R
Hello!
The Adapt-R is suitable for your fully integrated dishwasher. Is your dishwasher located between two cabinets or panels? Then we recommend the Premium60. But maybe your dishwasher is against a wall or at the end of a kitchen island, then you need the PremiumPlus60. This system is directly linked to the dishwasher, so no side panels are needed.
When you place the order, you can also see the total cost. You can of course still cancel the order.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
Honestly,
Team Adapt-R
I am in the USA and have lerhyttan doors. How can I secure the adapt-r rails to the part of the door with the thin panel? I believe the panel is 4 mm thick and inset 2 mm deep from the wood frame.
Hello!
The method of mounting these parts is indicated on the drilling template that is included in the packaging. Basically, the parts need to be flipped so that the screws are inserted into the thick edge. But if you look at the template, it becomes clearer to you.
Kind Regards,
Team Adapt-R
Can you give guidance on using the kit on a door that is 3 cm shorter x 1.1 cm wider?
Best,
John Stevenson
Hi John,
The drilling template is made for a kitchen front of 60x80cm. You can adjust this yourself by moving the template. However, it is necessary to assemble the parts that have to be mounted on the bottom in the indicated place. The correction must therefore take place at the top. The 1.1 cm you indicate is also easy to adjust. Some technical insight may be required.
Honestly,
Team Adapt-R
I bought a adapt-r premium but I’m a bit disappointed:
Siemens and Bosch Dishwasher are often coming with a sideLight, indicating that the machine is running a program:
https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse1.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.bHuHlmYbDBGQNGXGl4c2GQHaEK%26pid%3DApi&f=1
sadly this SideLight will be covered 100% by adapt-r which is really annoying. It would be easy to deliver the door side part (adapt-r pro) with a slotted hole that the sideLight would be visible.
Hello Philipp,
Thank you for your message. We will adjust the parts where necessary to fit your dishwasher with SideLight. Can you send an e-mail with a photo and the dimensions of the SideLight to info@adapt-r.co.uk?
With kind regards,
Team adapt-r
